Assumption High School Guidance Department
Spring 2016 Mindfully Parenting Teens Programs
This spring AHS Guidance Department is excited to share two opportunities for learning about mindfulness in parenting. Last school year Beth Hicks, AHS Guidance Counselor, began introducing mindfulness practices to students and teachers.
Mindfulness, or present-moment awareness, has been proven to help reduce stress, increase attention and concentration, increase one’s ability to empathize with others and help to deal with difficult thoughts and emotions. Most of all, mindfulness practices can help us to cultivate our inner strength and allow us to create a deeply responsive and meaningful life experience.
Mindfulness-based parenting skills help parents to stay connected to their teens and deepen their relationships during the challenging teen path to adulthood. This spring, AHS Guidance is offering two mindful parenting opportunities for the AHS parent community.
We hope you can join us!
