No More Repenting: Believing in our goodness in a world that says
we are never enough
Mary Oliver writes, “You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.”
Repent is a loaded word. It's true definition of profound remorse for wrong-doing has an essential place in our world. This workshop explores the shadow side of what it means to repent – when it is culturally used to reinforce a fundamental belief that we are inherently bad, flawed, broken, or unworthy. Please join us for an evening of breaking through these confines and seeing with clarity our cultural inheritance. This awareness can open freedom from the past and choice in creating our own path.
This 2 hour workshop includes:
-
guided mindfulness practice
-
a practical well-being tool for building awareness
-
voluntary discussion time
Facilitators: Mary Agee & Shelly Sowell
